When traveling in mainland China—especially to places like Tibet and Xinjiang—the biggest fear when choosing a travel agency is that the itinerary looks great on paper, only to discover after departure that it’s actually a shopping tour: the promised four-star accommodations don’t live up to their name, the tour guide barely provides any explanations, and the driver’s attitude is off-putting. Such travel agencies are not uncommon, so before booking a tour, many people check reviews on platforms like Dcard, PTT, Backpackers’ Inn, Threads, Facebook, Instagram, or Xiaohongshu.

CITS Global Travel - China2Go The contract explicitly states that this is a small-group tour focused purely on sightseeing, with no stops at shopping venues; the tour guide has many years of experience hosting international guests and travelers from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, and the accommodation standards are clearly specified in writing.

However, our own words aren’t enough. We’ve compiled some feedback from guests who traveled with us in May and June—all of which comes from comment forms they filled out by hand after their trips ended. Handwritten comments are the most direct and best reflect what it’s really like to travel with Global Travel.

The following are feedback forms filled out by hand by guests who traveled with us from May to June 2026. The content has not been edited; only the names have been anonymized.

China2Go: Which Travel Agency Is the Best for Traveling to Tibet? Recommended Travel Agencies in Tibet

To determine whether a Tibetan travel agency is worth choosing, you don’t actually need to look at how elaborate the itinerary is—just check a few key points: whether the tour guide is familiar with local culture and religious rituals, whether there are any mandatory shopping stops, the driver’s experience navigating high-altitude roads, and how quickly the travel consultant responds to questions before departure. Based on these criteria, we’ve compiled the following handwritten feedback from actual customers.

Pure sightseeing with no shopping stops; the itinerary takes the most direct route

"No shopping, just sightseeing" is the promise we include in our contract, and our guests have consistently given us excellent feedback after their trips—it’s only by avoiding gimmicks that they can truly enjoy their journey.

A handwritten review by Mr. Wen from Taiwan, who participated in China2Go’s small-group tour of Tibet in June 2026, commends the tour for having no forced shopping throughout the trip and for the comfortable accommodations.

Mr. Liu, Taiwan, June 2026

Of course, the distances between locations in Tibet are very long, so ensuring a smooth transition between stops is the most important aspect of a good travel agency’s planning—it’s not about cramming the itinerary with random stops, nor is it about springing hidden shopping stops on you at the last minute… Our local staff actually tailor the itinerary to what’s best for you at that moment.

A handwritten review by Ms. Zhu from Taiwan, who participated in the Global Tibet Small Group Tour organized by National Travel in June 2026, praised the itinerary for its well-planned schedule and seamless transitions.

The itinerary was very well planned, with nearly seamless transfers that made for a stress-free trip. Plus, the professional and dedicated tour guide was fantastic throughout the trip.

Drivers and Traffic Safety

In a unique high-altitude region like Tibet, road conditions are a challenge not only for tour guides but also for drivers—their experience is just as important. This point is often mentioned in guest feedback, too!

A handwritten review by Ms. Li from Taiwan, who participated in a China2Go Tibet tour in May 2026, commends the tour guide for being professional and responsible and the driver for his steady driving.

A handwritten review by Mr. Tsai from Taiwan, who participated in a small-group tour of Tibet organized by Global Travel in June 2026, described how the tour guide took care of them like family.

Mr. Tsai, Taiwan, June 2026

Consulting Services and Pre-Sales Communication

Many people feel apprehensive about making online bank transfers for the first time. China2Go always uses a corporate bank account for receiving payments. Before registration, our consultants will clearly explain the contract, tour fee breakdown, and cancellation and modification policies—which is typically the aspect that concerns first-time solo travelers the most.

A handwritten review by Mr. Yao from June 2026, when he first traveled alone on a China2Go Tibet tour. He signed up through a Facebook ad and was very satisfied with both the itinerary and the tour guide.

This was my first time joining a group tour on my own. I saw your company’s ad on Facebook and decided to give it a try. The itinerary, the tour guide, and the services were all excellent. I had a wonderful time. Thank you to the entire team—I really appreciate it.

How to Choose a Travel Agency in Tibet?

Check whether the contract specifies that the tour is “pure sightseeing with no shopping,” whether the tour guide is knowledgeable about local culture, whether the driver has experience driving at high altitudes, and whether the advisor’s responses before you sign up were clear enough. These are the key points,China2Go is also a division of China National Travel Service that specializes in inbound tourism., a practice we have consistently followed.

How to Choose a Tibet Tour and How to Read Reviews: Q&A

Q1: How can I choose a travel agency in Tibet that’s less likely to be a letdown?

A1: First, check whether the contract explicitly states “no shopping”—this is a much more reliable indicator than the itinerary. Second, see if the tour guide understands local religious rituals and cultural nuances; this isn’t something you can fake—you’ll know within five minutes whether they’re the real deal.

Q2: Is the driver important on a tour of Tibet? Is there a difference compared to typical tours in China?

A2: It’s very different. Tibet’s average elevation exceeds 3,600 meters; the roads are mountainous with sharp curves, and some sections pose a risk of falling rocks. Driving in an oxygen-deprived environment is completely different from driving at sea level. This is also why, in handwritten feedback from Global Travel guests, drivers are often singled out for mention—rather than simply being dismissed with a comment like “Overall, it was okay.”

Q3: Can a single person join a group tour to Tibet?

A3: Yes, many guests come alone. What truly affects the experience isn’t whether they know anyone in the group, but rather how quickly and clearly the travel consultant responds before departure—a point that has been repeatedly mentioned in guest feedback.

Q4: What documents do I need to travel to Tibet?

A4: In addition to a Taiwan Compatriot Permit, a Hong Kong and Macao Travel Permit, or a passport, foreign nationals and travelers from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan must also obtain a “Letter of Permission to Enter Tibet” to enter Tibet. Individuals cannot apply for this document on their own; it must be processed through a licensed travel agency. This is another practical reason for choosing a reputable travel agency.

Q5: Will I experience altitude sickness if I go to Tibet? How should I prepare?

A5: Altitudes above 3,000 meters may cause altitude sickness, which commonly includes headaches, insomnia, and mild shortness of breath. It’s most important to avoid strenuous activity for the first day or two after arrival, drink plenty of water, and take things slow; Itineraries from reputable travel agencies typically include a gradual ascent in altitude, and oxygen cylinders are usually available on the vehicle in case of need.

Q6: When planning a trip to China—or even to Tibet—how can I check travel agency reviews?

A6: Dcard, the PTT Travel Forum, and the Backpackers Forum are among the most popular platforms used by Taiwanese people. You can also find plenty of firsthand trip reviews on Threads and Xiaohongshu to cross-reference. Reading reviews from several different platforms gives you a more accurate picture than relying solely on reviews from a single travel agency’s official website.

Q7: If I’m on a group tour in China and encounter a problematic travel agency during the trip, how should I file a complaint?

A7: Within mainland China, you can file a complaint online through the “National Cultural and Tourism Market Online Reporting and Complaint Handling System”; travelers from Taiwan can also resolve cross-border disputes through the “Travel Industry Quality Assurance Association of the Republic of China” by calling (02) 2599-5088. Before departure, confirm that the travel agency is legally registered....Having a written contract for the trip is the most fundamental step in avoiding disputes.
