Foreign nationals and travelers from Taiwan must obtain a Tibet Travel Permit, which we handle on your behalf at no additional cost. You only need to provide a copy of your passport and Chinese visa (visa-free countries excluded).
Processing usually takes around 35 working days, plus 3–4 days for delivery. We recommend booking at least one month in advance.
No. Our itineraries are carefully paced with sufficient rest time to avoid unnecessary fatigue.Although distances in Tibet are long, we use newly released 2025-model vehicles to enhance comfort, reduce travel fatigue, and help ease altitude-related discomfort.
Absolutely. Solo travelers are welcome to join our small groups (2–18 people) and meet like-minded travelers from around the world.
If you prefer a more private experience, customized private tours are also available for greater flexibility and comfort.
There is no strict age limit for joining a Tibet tour, as long as you are in good health without serious cardiovascular or respiratory conditions. However, we recommend senior travelers undergo a medical check-up before departure. Travelers aged 65 and above from Taiwan must submit a medical certificate signed and stamped by a hospital when applying for the permit.Children under the age of four are not recommended for high-altitude travel, as they may not be able to clearly express physical discomfort.
One of our 5-day itineraries,“Discover Lhasa via the Qinghai–Tibet Railway,” includes a train ticket for departure from Tibet."
For other tours, we can assist with booking flights or train tickets upon request, offering transparent pricing and professional travel advice to save you time and worry. For larger booking volumes, preferential fares through our partner networks may also be available.
Our guides are professionally trained and experienced in high-altitude conditions, and will provide assistance whenever necessary. We do not promote unnecessary injections or overpriced oxygen products under the guise of “recommendations.” We emphasize natural acclimatization and closely monitor all travelers to ensure safety throughout the journey.
Many lower-priced tours are actually shopping-focused itineraries or bundled programs. These tours may include shopping stops, guide commissions, or reduced sightseeing time.In some cases, tours claim to be “no shopping” but still pressure guests into purchases through storytelling tactics. With over 70 years of brand credibility, we genuinely guarantee no shopping stops and no hidden tactics. We provide licensed professional guides, quality accommodations, and comfortable transportation throughout. While our pricing may be slightly higher, it ensures a stress-free, risk-free, and dignified travel experience.
At present, foreign nationals—including travelers from the United States, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan—may only enter Tibet as part of an organized tour arranged by a licensed travel agency, as a valid Tibet Travel Permit (Tibet Entry Permit / Tibet Permit) is required for all foreign travelers.
You may join one of our small-group tours or choose a private customized tour for greater flexibility and privacy.

Yes. We offer tours ranging from 5 to 8 days, depending on your travel dates and vacation schedule.
Altitude sickness is a natural acclimatization response rather than an illness. With proper rest and preparation, symptoms usually ease within one or two days.
Most high-altitude accommodations arranged by CITS (except Everest and pilgrimage routes) are equipped with oxygen systems.
We do not promote expensive oxygen products, but instead recommend affordable and publicly available shared oxygen options.
Most importantly, CITS Global Travel provides additional high-altitude travel insurance for our guests.
If you have any concerns, we recommend consulting a doctor before departure.
