.

The hill directly across from the Potala Palace has an excellent view and is the best location for taking panoramic photographs.
▸ Potala Palace Square
The fountains and flowerbeds reflect the palace, which is especially magnificent at night when it is illuminated.
▸ Potala Palace Post Office

The Potala Palace is not only the symbol of Tibet, but also the heart of Lhasa. When you walk around it, you can feel the blend of faith, life and history.
Qinghai–Tibet Railway · Journey on the Sky Road
Known as the “Sky Road on the Roof of the World,” the Qinghai–Tibet Railway stretches over 1,900 km,
linking Xining in Qinghai with Lhasa in Tibet. It is the highest and one of the most spectacular railways in the world.
Soft Sleeper Introduction
The soft sleeper cabins on the Qinghai–Tibet train accommodate four people per compartment, equipped with comfortable berths,
a small table, and storage space, as well as an oxygen supply system. With large windows for sightseeing,
the soft sleeper is quieter and more comfortable than hard sleepers or seats, making it the top choice for most travelers entering Tibet.
Lhasa Station
The starting point and farewell station of your journey. As the train departs, you carry the magnificent memories of the Potala Palace and officially begin the return trip.
Nagqu Station
The heart of the plateau grasslands, where herds of yaks roam and the vast open land echoes with a unique pastoral atmosphere.
Dangla or Tanggula mountain pass on the Qinhai-Tibet plateau
The highest point of the entire line, exceeding 5,000 meters. Snow-capped peaks and glaciers unfold outside the window, as if you were surrounded by a natural wonderland.
Hoh Xil
The vast landscapes of this uninhabited area stretch endlessly. At times, you may spot herds of Tibetan antelopes in the distance, experiencing the wildness and freedom of nature.
Golmud Station
An important stop before leaving the plateau. The barren Gobi desert and distant mountains intertwine, reminding travelers of both the harshness and grandeur of this journey.
Xining Station
The train finally arrives in Xining, returning to a lower-altitude city. This is not only the terminus of the Qinghai–Tibet Railway, but also a place for travelers to settle down after their journey through the snowy plateau.
Why Choose to Take the Train Out of Tibet from Lhasa?
Many travelers choose to take the Qinghai–Tibet train when leaving Tibet rather than when entering. After arriving in Lhasa , the body needs time to adjust to the plateau environment. By spending a few days there first, you gradually adapt to the altitude before starting the return train journey. This arrangement not only reduces the discomfort of first arriving at high altitude but also allows travelers to fully enjoy the beauty of the “Sky Road on the Roof of the World.”
